In a Warm Comfy Bed
By Janice Veldman
The sheets are soft and comfy
The heated blanket brings forth warmth
Someone is in my bed
I felt the entered weight
Small ripples under the blankets
They must be the you-know-whats
I can’t even say the name
They scare me
The sheet rolls
Tighter and tighter
The twist rises up
As if a fist
Shakes at me
I am paralyzed
I cannot scream
The sound of my plea is but a whisper
Who will hear me?
Terror
In a warm comfy bed.
