What It's Like: A Personal Story of Suffering - Death

DEATH
By Janice Veldman

The dock
 leads into encompassing fog
folding me in its cloak of unknown
into what lies beyond its end

slowly I am edging my way

when I fall
will I find the waters
warm
paralyzingly cold
swift current
calm

it matters not
take me out to the sea

NOTE:  Janice—my beloved sister and the author of these poems—passed away on the 28th of May, 2019. I loved her for the whole of her life. Although she is no-longer with us, I will love her forever.
