APPRECIATE the BEAUTY of ONE
By Janice Veldman
It was winter
Snow was falling, one flake at a time
Soon all that had a surface
Bore the weight of its presence
The beauty of one snowflake became a pile of havoc
Shoveled, plowed, cursed
It was a new life
Words came one at a time
So many expressed, So many heard
The much-awaited word became a chaotic world
Quiet please, no talking
It was a new age
Words struggled, misspoken, can’t recall
Fainter and slower
Gone, lost, silence
All the flakes melted.
